GCS 2022 in numbers
Participant feedback on the GCS2023 conference
“I participated for the first time, I was impressed by the high level of international speakers. They gave a nice overview of their research field, the organization was just perfect. In both days I could find something fitting my interests.”
Alessandro Alboresi (University of Padova, Padova, Italy, Invited Speaker)
“Everything was great. Really enjoyed the whole conference and found all of the information that the speakers shared very intriguing.”
Denitsa Kalcheva (Secondary Vocational School of Economics, Sliven, Bulgaria, Attendee)
“I congratulate the organizers for the event, it was a great opportunity to learn about new research topics and learn a little more about microalgae and cyanobacteria biotechnology. Looking forward to the upcoming sections.”
Diego de Oliveira Correa (National Laboratory of Energy and Geology, Lisbon, Portugal, Attendee)
“Nicely organized conference with speakers touching different part in the Photosynthesis field.”
Domenica Farci (Università di Cagliari, Cagliari, Italy, Attendee)
“It was very interesting and I learned a lot from the various session.”

Hristiyan Mihnev (Secondary Vocational School of Economics, Sliven, Bulgaria, Attendee)
“It was a good selection of topics.”
Imre Vass (HUN-REN Biological Research Centre, Szeged, Hungary, Attendee)
“Thank you for the invitation, the conference was great!”
Ivanina Vasileva (Institute of Forage Crops-Agriculture Academy, Pleven, Bulgaria, Attendee)
“I loved the conference. It gave me a lot of knowledge and interesting facts.”
Ivaylo Ivanov (Secondary Vocational School of Economics, Sliven, Bulgaria, Attendee)
“A very interesting and convenient event for scientists dealing with the relevant topics. I would be very happy if next year the topic of biologically active substances produced by microalgae would be included as part of the conference.”
Juliana Ivanova (IPPG, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Sofia, Bulgaria, Attendee)
“The invited speakers were truly outstanding, delivering insightful talks. Their perspectives were both thought-provoking and inspirational. While the content and quality of the presentations were very nice, I wanted to share a suggestion for improvement. Having the opportunity to communicate with the speakers only via chat felt a bit limiting. It would have been beneficial to have a more direct interaction platform. Overall, it was a high-quality experience, and I look forward to future events! Thank you!”
Kinga Böde (Biological Research Centre, Szeged, Hungary, Attendee)
“This my third time to attend the conference, it been a great experience so far.”
Lawrence Victor D. Vitug (UPLB Institution of Biology Philippines, Attendee)
“It was a great opportunity to meet and link up to many scientists and researchers. The added value of this meeting was the wide range of topics covered by the conference.”
Lorenzo PIN (ISB CNR, Area Territoriale di Roma 1, Italy, Organising Committee)
“I make my congratulations to all the organising committee for such interesting meetings, the speakers invited were very well presenting and also the topics were appealing.”
Lucia Barra (SZN, Naples, Italy, Attendee)
“I was very happy to attend this event with my secondary students and provide the chance to follow a real scientific conference.”
Lyubov Dombeva (European School in Luxembourg 1, Luxembourg, Attendee)
“I’ve really enjoyed all talks, but Photosynthesis factories was very interesting for innovation and future outlook. ”
Marcello De Mia (Syngenta Biologicals, Atessa, Italy, Attendee)
“Photosynthetic factories session better than that of 2022.”
Maurycy Daroch (Peking University, China, Attendee)
“It was a great online conference with a great program. My only recommendation would be to give a somewhat more informative title to the last session ‘Closing remarks’, because it seemed to be actually a general discussion or closing discussion, which was very useful. So a title ‘General discussion’ would indicate better the purpose of this last session, in which both the presenters and attendees could participate.”
Milan Szabo (HUN-REN Biological Research Centre, Szeged, Hungary, Attendee)
“I think everything worked well! The format felt “just right”: The days were not too long and the sessions were also the right length for an online meeting. The chairs were effective and did a good job of keeping time and managing the questions. This is extra important in an online meeting where communication is more difficult, and it worked really well.”
Pia Lindberg (Uppsala University, Uppsala, Sweden, Invited Speaker)
“It is really nice that you organize this every year! It is a great opportunity to easily listen to many different perspectives on the field. I am looking forward to the next GCS 2024.”
Rafał Białek (Technical University of Munich, Straubing, Germany, Attendee)
“Conference was more interesting and interactive.”
Rexley Charles (Ben Gurion University, Israel, Attendee)
“Conference was more interesting and interactive.”
Roberta Pace (ISPP-CNR, Portici (Naples), Italy, Attendee)
“Continue with the existing style.”
Sridharan Govindachary (Photosynthesis Specialist, Montreal, Canada, Attendee)
“It was my first GCS conference. I have only positive impressions because the topics covered are very interesting and partly concern my current PhD project.”
Stefano Francesco Farci (University of Cagliari, Cagliari, Italy, Attendee)
“A wonderful conference at a very high level. The opportunity provided by the organizers for many interested scientists also to attend shows their sincere desire to share and disseminate knowledge. Please, accept my greetings and great respect!”
Tsonko Tsonev (IPPG, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Sofia, Bulgaria, Attendee)
“Very good organization, distinguished speakers, interesting lectures.”
Violeta Peeva (IPPG, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Sofia, Bulgaria, Attendee)
“The lectures were well-chosen and of high quality and I enjoyed all three sessions.”
